Organize your Recipes

How do I organize my recipes? Easy! My recipe book is a three ring binder.
At this point not too high tech. Eventually I would like to store all my favorite recipes on the computer.
But for now I tape the recipe on an 8×11 piece of paper, slip it into a page protector (available at Staples or any office supply store) and stick it in the binder. I even went so far as to get tabs to separate the main dishes from the desserts from the appetizers, etc.
The bonus is that when I spill ingredients on the recipe, which I almost always do, I can easily clean up.

I definitely need a better method to organize my recipes — the 3 ring binder idea is simple and doable, could also slip recipes that i’ve cut out from magazines into the sleeves. would love for you to share any good recipes — always looking for new ideas. thanks!

Be sure to tape recipes that you have cut out onto 8.5×11 paper first so they don’t float around or fall out. Glad to be of help!

A 3 ring binder is also nice because if you want to “tweak” recipes, you can write right on the recipe page or in the margins of the paper.
I guess, you can write in a cookbook too, but my mom always taught me not to write in books and old habits die hard.

You are right - many of my recipe pages have notations. And, yes, you could write in the actual cookbook but your favorite recipes would not all be in one location. Thanks for the comment!
