My Favorite Words

Isabella at Change Therapy has asked me what my favorite words are.
And right away, I can tell you that my favorite words aren’t actually words at all.
- Lasterday - my all time favorite! My four year old daughter continues to use this word to refer to what is commonly known as “yesterday”. Do I correct her? Absolutely not! She can call it Lasterday as long as she wants and the day she says “yesterday” will be a sad one, indeed!
- Colorayons - same as lasterday, except this one refers to crayons.
- Dora Ek the Splorer - Explorer is a hard word, and Ek the Splorer is so much more unique.
- Lellow - this one is from years past. My second son said this in place of yellow until my oldest son set him straight.
- Aye - my oldest son said this instead of “yes”. Other people had some difficulty figuring this one out but we knew exactly what it meant.
What do these words tell you about me?
You could determine that my kids are a big part of my life and I cherish their childhood that is passing too quickly (and sometimes not fast enough). My favorite words don’t show you my incredibly practical side but rather a sentimental side that most people don’t see.
Is being a mom the most important thing in my life?
Aye.
Isabella has turned this question into a meme - here are the rules:
- what are your favourite words, and why?
- what does that tell us about you?
- write about it on your blog and invite other bloggers to write about it.
- link back to this blog (change therapy at http://moritherapy.org) and i’ll
- gather the words and contributors in a list and publish it
- stumble your “favourite word” post (as long as they meet my stumble criteria, which shouldn’t be difficult with a post like this)
Anyone is free to participate. But I will tag a few that may be interested.
- Aruni at entrepreMusings
- Suzy at SavvySuzy (who recently “tagged” me)
- Boogiemum
- Michelle at Lady Language (who “tagged” me ages ago - I haven’t forgotten!)
Isabella hasn’t posted a deadline on her meme but since she will be posting a list of all the contributers, I would imagine participating sooner is better than later.

thanks for participating - and what a great list of words! i totally understand why you wouldn’t correct your kids on them.
my youngest daughter, who used to be extremely clothes conscious when she was little (why, i can’t tell for the life of me - certainly not because of her parents!) once got very upset because we wouldn’t give her the “single pants”.
well, we couldn’t give them to her because we didn’t know what they were. what are single pants? only after about 15 minutes of investigation did we find out that they were the shorts with the flamingos on them. single=flamingo - oh, of course!
we haven’t been able to bring ourselves to get rid of those shorts yet. they are part of family lore.

Thanks for the tag Neena. I will try but I’m not sure I can get to this anytime soon. I am up to my eyeballs. Happy Holidays!

Hi Neena - love your favorite “words”. Thanks for the tag and I’ll post mine a bit later (since I have two young children, I bet some of my favorite words are really not words as well!)

Sounds like your kids definitely have a way with words.
I see what you mean by you have a few other tags.
I like this “favorite words” idea — so I will do mine in a few days. I like quotations & meaningful words — so this is “right up my alley” so to speak.
Thanks again for dropping by to let me know you got my tag. That was nice. Catch ya’ later.

Hi again Neena,
I finally finished my “Favorite Words” meme. Decided to combine it. Plus, you know what was funny — Isabella left a comment on my page a few days ago & I have to admit I was a little twisted with the two meme’s I had worked on. I thought she was one of the people I tagged (including you) for the “Birthday Month.” So I was commenting to her about that & not about the “Words” one & the fact that it was her idea.
Well, it finally clicked what was happening, and I finished the combined list, http://www.savvysuzy.com/. I imagine you’re quite busy around about now with memes, kids, & holiday stuff? So, I will catch ya’ later.

Thanks for the “tag.” It was actually fun — now that I look back on it and it’s done! I’ve got to catch up on some of my other stuff, too. I’m interested in how Isabella’s list turn out. Take care. :)Suzy
