According to Poland Spring website, bottles smaller than 3 gallons and/or #7 bottles are BPA free. Therefore I feel safe in continuing to buy the 1 gal cloudy bottle and the smaller bottles.
I do not store the water longer than 1 month.

I was worried about the effects of Bisphenol-A plastic. Until I was told about Steadyco, they sell infant products that contain NO Bisphenil-A. And my son Tom loves them.

Billy,
It is really concerning that we have been using BPA for so many years without knowing the side effects. I also been eying my food storage canisters with suspicion. Stainless steel must be the way to go. All of my Rubbermaid's and Ziploc syle containers are labeled with a number 5 and PP which means that they should not contain BPA. But generally I try to use glass for leftovers.

It's abou time!! Luckily we bpa-free options online now.... like www.newbornfree.com for plastic baby bottles or
www.titanwaterbottle.com for bpa-free reusable water bottles (for adults).

There are some other great alternatives, like the ones mentioned above, if you look around online.

Why continue using products containing bishpenol a if we don't have to?

I'm still looking for a good place to buy bpa-free storage containers for food. Please post if you know of one!
