Parenting Tips Mom

So who is it that is writing parenting tips at this NeenMachine site?
The folks at MomDot.com are hosting a holiday party and I thought I would join in. Basically each day for the month of November there will be a new question that we can answer on out sites. The first day’s question is to introduce our families and include pictures of Christmas’ past.
Well, that is a harder question than it seems. I don’t really post much about myself here. I kind of stick to stuff that may be of interest to other parents. And most of it revolves around kids.
But in the spirit of the holidays - (and some parenting advice will follow, I promise!) here is a little bit about me.
I am a mom of four kids - 3 boys and a girl. My oldest is in seventh grade (already!) and my youngest is in kindergarten. The two in between are a fifth grader and a third grader. Before I had kids I loved baking, reading, crocheting, and lots of quiet activities. Now, post kids, my newest hobbies are chauffeuring, cheering at sporting events, laundry, and minute meals, and lots of organizing.. And, of course, working on my websites.
As far as pictures go, well, I just don’t do that. Maybe next year!

Thanks for sharing the stories of a busy mom. My husband wishes I wouldn’t post family pictures on the web. I still do though

How is it that I’m the first one to write a comment? I feel special - LOL. Thanks for sharing about your family. Amazing how our hobbies completely change post-kids, isn’t it?

It is funny how thing change when we have kids. I use to consider it a hobby of mine to read a book while taking a nice long, hot bath. Now I am lucky to get an uninterrupted 5 minute shower. Someday I am lucky to get a shower at all.

I share your new hobbies as well, but in our house they’ve become 4 letter words some days.

It is amazing what kids will do your life. They turn it upside down that is for sure. However, for the good. I may not get to enjoy what I loved to do before kids, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love what I GET to do now.

@ Tracye - Nice to meet you too!
@ Hayley - Just when I thought things couldn’t get any busier!
@ cat - Thanks for the compliment!
@ Christy - More than anyone could possibly imagine.

@ Louise - I’m probably just being old fashioned about not posting pics but you have to go with what you’re comfortable with.
Neena | Nov 13, 2008 | Reply
@ Sandyra - I have had a book on my end table for about 5 weeks and I think I am still only on the second chapter - I should really just give up all hope!

@ Melissa - Thanks!
@ Michelle - The biggest change is time - or shall I say lack of time!
@ Kimberly - The energy level in our house is always very high - that’s for sure!
@ Staci A - That’s what parenting is all about, I guess.
@ Trish - Thanks!
@ Natalie - Thanks - it’s all about sharing our experiences - and maybe making it easier for someone else.
@ Melissa - Happy Holidays to you as well!
@ Amy - I am quite familiar with those no shower days - unfortunately!
@ Amanda - Too true - parenting is not all fun and games and patience can run a little thin.
@ Alisha - You are right, I wouldn’t have it any other way!
@ Rita - Thanks!
@ lind - Happy Holidays to you too!
