July 2011

I am a digital girl – a gadget geek through and through.

My calendar is on my computer and it syncs with my phone via MobileMe (soon to be defunct) automatically.

In particular – I use Apple. iCal and Address Book are two apps that I can’t live without. When I make a change on one device it shows up on another – no muss, no fuss, no thought involved.

But every once in a while – I wonder if I am making the right choice.

I still miss appointments, forget paperwork, and feel a bit disorganized.

Maybe the old paper planner is a better choice?

And when I see these beautiful planners from momAgenda I wonder if I should make the switch back.

There is something to be said about a fresh, clean, piece of paper just waiting to be filled in. And using different colors of ink, and even adding a few stickers here and there for embellishment – just makes the whole process more fun.

Our family calendar is a complete logistical nightmare. With four busy kids, that participate in way too many activities (yes, the experts would definitely be lecturing me about setting limits – and over extended, stressed out kids) every day is filled and the schedule is completely varied.

Jotting down notes the old fashioned way does help to keep me on track. And having a physical book to keep everything anchored is pretty darn helpul.

Do you use a digital planner or a paper planner?

I am looking for new ideas here – tell me how you stay organized.

A new school year is just around the corner, and I want to start myself and the kids out right.

Talk to me ladies!

Getting Kids To Drink Water

As summer heats up, kids need to drink more water to stay healthy and keep from getting dehydrated. But sometimes convincing them is hard to do. My 11 year old “doesn’t like water”.  And why would he – I mean really, soda, sports drinks, and powdered drink mixes taste a whole lot better. But we [...]

Can A Keurig Make Hot Water?

I’ve written about my various experiences with Keurig coffee makers before. Despite a few quirks – I would be hard pressed to do without my single serve brewer. I’ve definitely gotten spoiled with being able to make a fresh cup of coffee any time of day – and a different flavor each time, if I [...]

Big Brother is a Reality

It’s kind of creepy – yet pretty amazing. Yesterday, I was browsing a furniture site. I found a chair that I liked. And I found an ottoman from a different collection on the same site that I liked. I bookmarked them – spent a little time imagining how they would look in my family room [...]
