About
NeenMachine.com is a site that helps women deal with everyday issues like
- parenting
- household management
- internet business building
- establishing work life balance
- and integrating technology into the home.
Over time motherhood has evolved from homemaking, to the career and family juggle, and on to the home based business – so I can stay home and have the best of both worlds mentality.
Achieving success in each area of this complex life is a tough job. A high level of organization, planning, and time management skills are needed to make it all work.
But sometimes – the brutal reality is that there are simply not enough hours in the day to make it all happen. What results is a feeling of failure – because we, as women, ask so much of ourselves and set such a high standard of achievement.
There are so many of us on this path – that it is so important for us to support each other – as women, as entrepreneurs, as moms, as individuals.
My Story
My tale is simple and probably similar to most. Fourteen years ago I left my high profile job as a CPA to stay home and raise my children.
I planned to take a five year break.
But my oldest son had severe food allergies to such a large variety of foods – that it was almost impossible for me to leave him in the care of others. He is now fourteen and has three younger siblings that keep me running around for the better part of each day.
And I still haven’t made it back to the office.
Somewhere along the line – as much as I love my husband and the kids – I realized that I needed something more. I missed my career and the satisfaction (and paycheck) that I get from working.
I started to explore options on the internet and discovered that I have a passion for building websites. But creating a piece of web real estate doesn’t make it profitable. A successful internet business requires traffic, a product, and a mission – just like any offline venture.
So, here I am, writing about the issues that are most important to me – family, work, and maintaining the balance between the two.
