I am a big fan of Mama Kat’s writing prompts. Every week on or about Tuesday she posts a list of thought provoking questions and our assignment is to choose one and write about it. On Thursday we are to head back over to her site and add the url of our post to list of all those that are participating.
I love this idea for a couple of reasons. First it gets those creative juices flowing when I face writer’s block and second it builds a community of (mostly) women that are looking to promote their sites and their online businesses. Stop on over – pick a question and start writing! On Thursday – take some time out to visit a bunch and comment, comment, comment!
The question that I chose for this week is: Describe a snappy comeback.
Typically, I am not quick enough for snappy comebacks. I think too much before I speak. After all I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings or have my facts out of whack.
But my kids are a different story. And just listening to them is proof that they are watching too many sassy TV shows (whatever happened to the Brady Bunch?).
If your house is anything like mine – bickering amongst siblings is an uphill battle. Yesterday, my 12 year old son must have irked my six year old daughter. Because suddenly she was telling him that he was an ugly something or another. He responded back that she was uglier than something else. And so on and so forth.
I was just about to intervene when he responded with this kicker “Well, you are so ugly that if Medusa looked at you – she would turn to stone!”
Hmmmm, good one. Apparently my daughter thought so too – because she let the argument go at this point. How do you respond to that?
Oh – and if you too are at your wits end – here are some parenting tips to stop kids fighting. Good Luck!
