Whatever

I knew it would happen – I just knew it.

Didn’t I tell you yesterday – as much as I love it, back to school night just plain disrupts our whole schedule?

I looked inside my crystal ball and I saw the future – but not exactly:

I just cross my fingers and hope all of those assignments get done.

You see – the assignments did get done! Yipee! I taught them well, I patted myself on the back, I put those darling children on the bus – and then I came back into the house and I found

  • the above Math folder – along with the nicely completed homework that is due today on one of my son’s desks
  • AND the below Drama folder – along with the nicely completed homework that is due today on a different son’s desk.

Somehow in the hustle and bustle of back to school night – that gentle, little reminder of “Is your backpack packed up for tomorrow?” (usually conveyed in a loud booming voice that permeates all levels of the house) was forgotten.

Sigh.
